Space Exploration: A Journey from Shepard to SpaceX and Beyond
Space exploration is a journey from the first man in space to the present day. It has been one of the most exciting and ambitious projects in human history with many developments and breakthroughs. Space exploration has always been a topic of interest for many people, but it was not until 1957 when it became an international effort. The Soviet Union launched Sputnik 1, which was the first artificial satellite to orbit Earth. This sparked an intense rivalry between the United States and Russia that lasted until 1975. Throughout this time period, there were many developments and breakthroughs in space exploration, such as the development of rockets capable of carrying humans into space, satellites being launched into orbit around Earth and probes being sent to explore other planets such as Venus and Mars. .As of 2018, the International Space Station is the longest continuously inhabited human space facility.Modern day exploration includes Mars rovers and manned trips to Mars.
